HYBRID INSULATION ASSEMBLIES: SPRAY FOAM INSULATION & REFLECTIVE INSULATION – BILL LIPPY
This technical session will incorporate the design and use of hybrid assemblies that use two technologies to obtain thermal insulation for use in the building enclosure. The primary objectives are the evaluation of the thermal performance and the benefits of combining technologies. CODE COALITION PANEL DISCUSSION – CODE COALITION, JOHN LIBONATI, STEVE BADEN
The HPIP Code Coalition was formed to provide contractors with resources and tools for understanding, implementing and explaining code changes. The panel will discuss the Code Coalition’s goals and progress in assisting contractors, take Q&As from attendees, and provide updates on code legislation. [DOWNLOAD PRESENTATION]

 

ENERGY RATINGS – NEW TRENDS IN CODES – STEVE BADEN
Across the nation there is a trend for code jurisdictions to adopt a HERS Index Score option to the energy codes.  To date over 150 local and state code jurisdictions have adopted an energy rating option to their codes.   This movement has gained momentum with the International Code Council adopting an Energy Rating Index option in the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code.  This session will explain the new energy rating option to the 2015 IECC and why local code jurisdictions are adopting HERS Index performance option. [DOWNLOAD PRESENTATION]
